After reading together, visit our photo booth for a keepsake picture with your grandchild for $10 while supplies last!

I.C.E.S. parents and guardians are invited to a parent-teacher meeting to discuss your child's progress, Title 1, attendance, and important updates about the school. Parent Night will be held on Thursday, September 4 from 4:30 P.M. -6:00 P.M.

Reminder for Parents/Guardians

This week's Chiefs of the Week at ICES goes to a grade level. This recognition was given to the fourth grade team for several reasons. This team came with a positive attitude, ready work, and provided great input during PLCs. The positive vibe made the environment conducive for sharing and learning from one another.
Other team members were recognized for going above and beyond. Mr. Gray has made sure that one of our students who had surgery over the summer was provided with a way to get back and forth with comfort. Mr. Dawson has been pivotal in greeting students and teaching them conflict resolution skills. A special shout out goes out to Mrs. Mixon. She actively participated in the PLCs, and she also displayed an act of kindness to one of her student's family.
School administrators want to thank the 4th grade team for building a positive culture in their grade level and school. Positive vibes and attitudes quickly become contagious!!!

Irwin County Elementary School recognized several staff members as "Chiefs of the Week" this week. Daphane Stevenson, Alecia Martin, Dede Stephens, and Madellen Sirmans were awarded for exemplary service to our students, families, and staff.

Today Mrs. Abby Clayton's fifth grade class enjoyed First Chapter Friday, when the students hear the first chapter of a library book that is different from what they might ordinarily try. Mrs. Clayton and Mrs. Christie Copeland, I.C.E.S. media specialist, read the beginning of a Charlie Joe Jackson book. Mrs. Clayton's students rated the book afterward and gave it a "thumbs up!" Mrs. Clayton is just one of the many I.C.E.S. teachers exploring innovative instructional strategies in English Language Arts.

Irwin County Schools, through the GADOE, have partnered with Parent ProTech to empower families, create safer digital habits, and strengthen school-to-home connections. Today’s students live in a tech-first world, and parents often struggle to keep up. Parent ProTech bridges that gap by providing schools with an easy-to-use platform that helps parents understand the technology their children use every day—social media, gaming, devices, and more.

The Irwin County Pre-K team had a great first week of school at Irwin County Elementary !

At Irwin County Elementary School, all of our teams have had a great first week serving our students!

Irwin County Elementary School Staff had a great time posing with the Chief during our get to know you activity!!! Staff members had to circulate the room and talk with one another to find who had the puzzle piece that completed theirs. Then they had to answer three get to know you questions. The final step was taking a creative picture with the Indian Chief Statue; with the top three pictures winning gift cards. The pictures were great and we couldn't choose just three. We had to choose four.

We would like to thank the Irwin County Hospital for their support of your schools. Employees and board members of Irwin County Hospital held a school supply drive for Irwin County Elementary School. ICH is always looking for ways to give back to our community, and stated, "supporting our youth through collecting school supplies is something we have grown fond of doing! " Again, thank you for your ongoing support of ICSS.
