Irwin County High School Alumni Spotlight: Kenley Nobles, Class of 2019
This month, we proudly spotlight Kenley Nobles, a 2019 graduate of Irwin County High School who is making her mark in the world of professional sports.
After graduating from Georgia Southern University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Kenley took her first steps into the industry through an internship at the University of Louisiana Monroe. Her hard work and passion for sports quickly paid off—leading to a position with Atlanta United, one of Major League Soccer’s premier organizations.
Since joining Atlanta United, Kenley has already been promoted twice and now serves as the Team Coordinator for Atlanta United 2 (AU2). In this key role, she oversees league registration, home game operations, away game travel logistics, and a wide range of player and personnel responsibilities. Her attention to detail and leadership continue to contribute to the smooth operation of the organization.
Kenley was recently recognized during Women’s History Month by Atlanta United for her contributions as a woman in sports. In that feature, she reflected on her early inspiration:
“With my dad being a high school football coach, I was always around sports growing up. He got me involved with his teams from a young age, and it was a way for us to connect when work kept him away from home. Being around those environments showed me how much I enjoyed seeing what goes into running a successful program/organization.”
Kenley is the daughter of the late Coach Buddy Nobles, former Head Football Coach at Irwin County High School. His influence, along with Kenley’s determination and talent, have led her to thrive in a competitive field while proudly representing Irwin County.
We are incredibly proud of Kenley Nobles and the trail she continues to blaze in the sports world!

Irwin County High School Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Payton Posey Smith, Class of 2016
This month, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Dr. Payton Posey Smith, an accomplished 2016 graduate of Irwin County High School whose journey reflects determination, resilience, and a deep love for both her community and her calling.
After graduating from ICHS, Payton earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from ABAC, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her passion for animals and science led her to pursue veterinary medicine, and she was accepted into the prestigious veterinary program at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee.
Payton graduated from veterinary school in May 2025. She plans to begin practicing locally at Quailwood Animal Hospital in Tifton, GA. with a focus in small animal general medicine/surgery.
Payton’s journey is made even more remarkable by her personal accomplishments. She married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Smith (ICHS Class of 2015), and together they are raising three children right here in Irwin County. Despite the challenges of motherhood and school, Payton never paused her education. Her son Dallin (6) attends Irwin Elementary, while daughters Callie (3) and Adaline (8 weeks) are already being raised with the same Irwin pride.
During her time at ICHS, Payton was actively involved in athletics—playing softball, basketball, tennis, and serving as a Diamond Girl for baseball. Her drive, spirit, and love for Irwin County continue to shine through in all she does.
We are so proud of you, Dr. Payton Posey Smith, and can’t wait to see the incredible impact you’ll make right here at home!
