Irwin County Schools

Please be advised that Friday, January 30, 2026, will be a half day for students in Irwin County Schools. ICHS will be hosting a wrestling tournament that day, with more than 10 visiting teams on campus around noon.

For logistical & safety reasons and to allow us to properly host the event, students will be released early.

ICES will release at 11:30 AM.
ICMS/ICHS will release at 11:45 AM.

Irwin County Schools Announces Beau Johnson as New Head Football Coach for Irwin County High School

Students are set to return to school tomorrow, January 7th. As a reminder, ICSS places extra emphasis on attendance, as every day of instruction matters.

However, if your child is sick, please keep them at home. The flu is currently widespread across Georgia, and we want to help keep all students and staff healthy.

ICHS Alumni Spotlight – Maggie Martin, Class of 2015

We are excited to shine the Alumni Spotlight on Maggie Martin, a 2015 graduate of Irwin County High School who continues to excel in both her professional career and her service to the Irwin County community.

Maggie graduated from ICHS as Valedictorian and STAR Student in 2015, setting the tone for her impressive academic journey. She went on to attend Georgia Tech, where she graduated with highest honors in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Continuing her education, Maggie earned her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law in 2022, graduating magna cum laude with highest distinction for pro bono service. While in law school, she also served as a GSU law student mentor, helping guide first-year students through their legal studies.

Professionally, Maggie has spent the last two years practicing law with James Bates Brannan Groover LLP, where she worked in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. She has also served as the county attorney for Irwin County, contributing her legal expertise back to the community that raised her. Soon, Maggie will begin an exciting new chapter, joining the U.S. Federal District Court in Macon, Georgia.

While building a remarkable career, Maggie has remained deeply connected to Irwin County, frequently returning home and continuing to contribute to her community. She currently resides in Bonaire, Georgia, and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

During her time at ICHS, Maggie was not only a scholar but also an active leader and competitor. She was a two-time state champion on the women’s tennis team, member of Literary, Student Council & Beta Club, and was part of the Senior Year Homecoming Court.

Maggie Martin’s journey reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence, leadership, and service, and we are proud to recognize her as a shining example of Irwin County success.
