Irwin HIGH XC traveled to Wilcox County yesterday for their RED FLAME classic. Irwin had four runners for Girls and 4 for Boys show up. Despite missing several student-athletes and not having a team score, "The exceptional athletes who participated did an amazing job!" says Coach Steven Haggard.
The course will be used for the sectionals meet on November 1 at Wilcox High. All of our runners ran this same course back in August during the Patriot Pride Invitational, which was the FIRST meet of the year.
This year, Coach Steven concocted a deal with the team that if every runner beat their previous course time, He would buy the team a PARTY PACK to share from the DonutNV food truck.
With great weather for the event, NOT ONLY did they beat their previous course time, but EVERY runner had a PERSONAL RECORD ("PR") for this event, exceeding our expectations.
