Migrant Education Program

Education of Migratory Children

The Migrant Education Program (MEP) is a federally-funded program designed to support comprehensive educational programs for migrant children to help reduce the educational disruption and other problems that result from repeated moves. Irwin County is a part of the ABAC Migrant Consortium. The MEP serves eligible migrant students ages 3-22. Eligible students are identified by completed Occupational Survey and family interview. Upon eligibility, students are served with academic tutoring and support services as needed by Student Support Providers.

Migrant Parents are encouraged to attend scheduled Parent Advisory Council Meetings to gain additional understanding of the Migrant Education Program.
