Irwin County High School Alumni Spotlight: Ashley Gaskins Clines, Class of 2011

We’re proud to highlight Ashley Gaskins Clines, a 2011 graduate of Irwin County High School, whose inspiring journey of service, leadership, and dedication makes her a standout member of our alumni family.

After graduation, Ashley joined the United States Navy, where she quickly rose through the ranks with determination and excellence. Her outstanding performance earned her the prestigious title of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) 2020 Sailor of the Year, and she currently holds the distinguished rank of Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy—a true mark of leadership and honor.

In addition to her military success, Ahsley earned her Bachelor of Art Degree in Psychology in 2023 and continues to lead by example in both her professional and personal life. She plans to retire from the United States Navy, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication. 

Ashley is stationed in Virginia, where she lives with her husband, Michael Clines, and their two beautiful children, Summer Clines and Shiloh Clines. Her journey is a powerful example of resilience, strength, and the lasting values rooted in her Irwin County upbringing.

We celebrate Chief Ashley Gaskins Clines for her commitment to our nation, her achievements, and the positive impact she continues to make wherever she serves.

Irwin County High School Alumni Spotlight: Libby Hutchinson Yawn, Class of 1986

This month, we’re proud to shine the Alumni Spotlight on Libby Hutchinson Yawn, a 1986 graduate of Irwin County High School who continues to exemplify what it means to be a true Indian at heart.

Libby is widely known throughout our community as Irwin’s number one fan—always present, always cheering, and always supporting every student-athlete who steps onto a field, court, or mat. Her unwavering support goes far beyond the sidelines. As a dedicated school bus driver, Libby ensures our students travel safely and are cared for with genuine love and attention. She’s not just driving them to and from school or events—she’s forming meaningful bonds, providing encouragement, and looking after their every need.

Students know that if they don’t have anyone else in the stands, they have Ms. Libby. She holds each child accountable with care and respect, and her presence is a constant reminder that every student matters. Her support is not just felt—it’s known.

Outside of her commitment to Irwin County Schools, Libby enjoys a full and loving life with her husband of nearly 30 years, Gary Yawn. Together, they have three children—Adam, Daniel, and Diana—and four grandchildren who bring joy to their lives: Brayden, Addie, Bubba, and Genni.

Libby Hutchinson Yawn’s dedication, love for our students, and enduring school spirit make her a true example of what it means to be part of the Irwin County family. We are proud to honor her as our Alumni Spotlight!

Irwin County High School Alumni Spotlight: AJ Davis, Class of 2000

We are proud to feature AJ Davis, a 2000 graduate of Irwin County High School, whose passion for helping others has led to an impactful and inspiring career in healthcare.

AJ began his journey as a Registered Nurse (RN) and later advanced his career by becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Known for his compassionate care and dedication, AJ is deeply committed to his patients’ well-being. He listens intently, works tirelessly to find the root of their health concerns, and is always willing to go the extra mile—even answering calls and texts after hours and on weekends.

For AJ, caring for others isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. He treats each patient like family and takes pride in providing thoughtful, thorough care to everyone he serves.

We’re proud to celebrate AJ Davis, a true example of excellence, empathy, and Irwin County pride in the healthcare field.

Irwin County High School Alumni Spotlight: Jamie Richardson, Class of 2007

We are proud to recognize Jamie Richardson, a 2007 graduate of Irwin County High School, as this month’s Alumni Spotlight. Jamie’s journey since graduation is a testament to hard work, integrity, and a heart for service—both professionally and in his community.

After high school, Jamie entered the workforce and quickly distinguished himself through his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His attention to detail and drive to do things the right way have become defining traits throughout his career.

Jamie currently serves as a Security Analyst at Southwell, where his dedication has not gone unnoticed. He has earned recognition as both Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year—honors that reflect his professional skill, commitment, and value to the organization. Known for his teamwork and positive attitude, Jamie contributes to a positive and productive work environment.

Outside of his professional career, Jamie is deeply involved in his community. He serves as a deacon and the Media Director at Glorious Deliverance, his local ministry. No matter where he is—on the job or at church—Jamie is known for his dependability and servant leadership.

Jamie’s commitment to making a difference is shared by his wife, Kasey Richardson, who also serves the Irwin County community as a Dual Enrollment Instructor at Irwin County High School. Her work in preparing students for healthcare careers is shaping the next generation of professionals and making a lasting impact.

Jamie Richardson’s life is a powerful example of how dedication, faith, and service can come together to inspire others. We are proud to celebrate him as an outstanding member of the Irwin County High School alumni family.
